Anyone else freezing out there? Today I'm layering my plaid, gingham to be exact. I've got my thrifted parka on, this very cool black gingham shirt dress I recently bought at Goodwill. Some amazingly warm fleece lined tights from Marshalls. And these awesome thrifted Chelsea boots!
Second day of plaid. This great jacket was from Goodwill. I also spotted these great Chelsea boots at Goodwill and seized them right away! lol it really went down like that, I'm sure you would do the same, they were only $6. I've been wanting some badly but again unwilling to pay retail. So patience paid off here.
I'm going to challenge myself to wear something plaid everyday. I realized alongside the color black, I have a lot of plaid in my closet. So why not? This is a challenge I can do. Day one are these amazing zippered plaid pants I got at Goodwill. White collar shirt was also thrifted, and this navy blazer was given to me from a friend.
I will wear this green jacket until the last thread is dangling off of my back. lol. Today's thrifted look is my parka, cream cable knit sweater from Goodwill, Jeans also thrifted. And these gorgeous budget friendly rose gold shoes from Gojane.
Wee let's talk monthly favorites. The vain sort. 1 is these rose gold wedges! Though I admire them sitting in my closet more than on my feet, I think they are very cool and make jeans so much more interesting. 2 Wet N Wild's Wine Room, its a very daytime friendly wine color. 3 Nest fragrance Midnight Fleur roller ball, warm spicy amber. I could go on and on how I love it, but I'll leave it there, I just wish it lasted longer. 4 & 5 sort of go hand and hand. With the cold weather my skin becomes dry and itchy. I do two drops of lavender in warm melted coconut oil and use that after showers. The lavender calms any irritated skin and coconut oil is just the most amazing moisturizer plain and simple.
Oh also! The pine cones, I have been crazy for pine cones, using them to decorate with. Thanks for reading.
I have missed writing. Been busy with Thanksgiving and all the family, friends, and fooooood that goes along with it. Today I went to a consignment shop with my sister and had a fun time! Here are some random sightings.
This is one of those cute things that wth?! do you do with it? Idk but its cute. Two miniature wooden pigs kissing.
This weird item is a doggie decanter and cups. Perfect for entertaining hah.
Artistically creepy face molds.
This cool phone, I want to think of a way to maybe repurpose it.
and there was a vendor who made these hats. They were all so impressive, I wish I could buy many that I tried on, but I practiced restraint and only bought one, but look at this amazing crimson red woven fascinator hat. So beautiful.
and we shall look at clothes together ooh la la. I had some time to spare and Goodwill was calling my name. Let's start with this dress, a hippy boho cut with a cool zig zag pattern. You may find this random, but it reminded me of Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Then there was this beautiful emerald embellished dress, which I am hoping is there during the half off day because I waaaaant it. The phone picture does it no justice.
And I've been adoring blue velvet so this blazer caught my eye!
the rest just sat on the hook. Partly because I didn't have time to try them on really and partly because I didn't want to buy them for a few wears. I'm not a clothes hoarder....*cough* Wouldn't it be fun to wear a full silk pink skirt and dress it with a sweater or something.
and this rainbow knit iridescent skirt is sort of a perfect idea for a lazy day at home where you don't want to be totally dumpy, if I could only find one in grey.
Though this top isn't your average sweatshirt, its still got the shape and soft fuzzy-ish lining like a sweatshirt. My top is this thrifted American Apparel shirt with herringbone pattern. This yellow eyelet lace dress was given to me by a good friend *hug* and my booties were from Goodwill some time ago. And of course I'm carrying my thrifted croc bag.
I decorated this basic top with some thrifted clip on earrings and this brooch.
I just noticed that fur anything is a rare find when I go thrifting. I'm not really looking for it, but if I saw something fur and cool I would definitely pick it up, like this great faux fur stole I got years ago.
and more fur inspiration because we're not limited to just coats or stoles.
This Nars ad is a great inspiration for contouring and bronzing for even in autumn and winter. I am definitely inspired and will have to take a stab at bronzing. Maybe this winter when everyone is freezing they will take a look at my bronzed contoured face and instantly feel warm all over lol. I bought my first bronzy product so I will have to let you see how it goes.
I've had this Portishead t shirt since high school..which was only a few years ago..lol oh I kid. This grey maxi skirt was from Goodwill. I remember when the girl at check out was ringing it up and she said it was really cute, but she said it in a weird tone, as if she meant how did we let this one go on the rack? I'm sure the workers get dibs on most of the really cool stuff. Wouldn't you love to go behind the scenes? Croc bag also thrifted.
Thrifted look today is this spotted dress with this heavy cream cable knit sweater over top. Something about a polka dot dress is a mood booster. And one of my favorite thrift finds, this crocodile purse. No idea what era its from, who its made by, or what sort of material real leather or some odd man made production. That's the mystery in thrifted goods. Hope you have a good day.
This polish is beautiful. I feel like an Ice Queen with frosty nails. Its Zoya's Nyx from the Pixie Dust collection. It took 3-4 coats to get it solid and I would recommend skipping a top coat because that takes away from its twinkly sugar texture. Here it is indoors and in direct sunlight.
Plaid, check, tartan, flannel, did I leave any out? What do you call that pattern? Today's plaid is this jumper dress I got from a friend who was about to get rid of it! I couldn't let that happen. This oversize mélange sweater was from Goodwill, Fleece lined leggings from Marshalls, and these brogues were from Asos on clearance.
